Is it posible to clone MK1s? One player has become my favorite and I was trying to use the cloning tool to duplicate it. The lowest serial number aways appears as the source (not what I want). Perhaps there is another method?

First thing that comes to mind is swapping the drives from one player to the other. Then clone from the lower serial number player to the higher. There may be an easier way though. I'm sure someone else will know more about this than me.

You can simply get both drives into one empeg, then copy the FIDs over. Details in the drive-replacement FAQ.

I couldn't find much on cloning since the early MK1 to MK2 posts, since the clone tool is still included in the emplode package I'd assume you'd be able to clone 2 players with it. I've got the space to copy files to without moving drives around. Ideally with both connected thru usb cables run the clone tool and all would be done when I get up tomorrow :) Untill voice recognition appears as a beta these MK1's will have to do...

One of the forums on this BBS is called "FAQ". It's got more than one page's worth of items, scroll through it until you find the relevant post.

Sorry it's not in any sort of organizational order, it's kind of random. There's no way to control the sort order of the posts.

Arn't they pretty much listed by date? If so, couldn't the recorded dates be tweeked to give the order desired.

In order to make the posts "always appear" instead of being hidden by date, Paul's running a script which tags those entries in the MySQL database with a newer date. The problem is that the script has no way of knowing which posts are which.

Anyway, it wouldn't make a difference since those posts are a mishmash of random information from the BBS. They were never in any order to begin with.

Ideally, we'd categorize them, etc., but at that point it wouldn't be a message board on the BBS, it'd be a separate project all to itself. Maybe one of us will tackle a categorized FAQ for that web site everyone is talking about?

Oh, wait, thats not my line.

Might as well spoil the suprise and announce the new sites FAQ capabilities

(I don't see a reason why it won't be launched this weekend. Almost all the pieces are in place, and the rest can just follow down the road)

I'll follow this up on the appropriate thread but I've been looking into retyping the FAQs. (gotta start somewhere!) It'l be a huge amount of information to sift through. the posts on this BBS are just waaay too helpful!
