Although the significance was somewhat dwarfed by events in NY and DC, last week's events also included a large number of redundancies within SONICblue. Since then I have been unable to ascertain the whereabouts of the tuners, but Steve is working on it.

Hi Rob.

Don't take this personally, I know you are doing everything you can to sort this out, but it still becomes more and more rediculous each day. This somehow reminds me of an asterix comic (and film) I once read (and saw). I'm not sure about its title, but it is based on some tests that caesar required to accept asterix and his friends as gods. One of the test was to get a certain document from some office building that was known as the "Haus das Verrückte macht" (or "House that turns people crazy" or something like that). Basically, everyone in that building (well anyone "working" there) just redirected customers to someone else until the customer finally went crazy.
I mean: I know there are tuners in the US ready for shipment (you said so about 2-3 weeks ago), and I know you got ahold of someone responsible for sending them over to the UK (you said so at least 1 week ago), and now the tuners are gone again? What kind of company is that that bought you? What I read here about the tuner modules (regarding the web shop for the US and the shipment of a contingent to the UK) certainly reminds me more of a kindergarten than of a full grown world-wide company.
I'm absolutely sure that I am happy that you guys at empeg are handling the european shop and the product service (at least for now). Thank god I already have my empeg (though I would certainly like to get the tuner I have been waiting for for more than a year now).

cu,
sven

I just found out that the tuners were stuck with FedEx in San Francisco, but are now expected to clear customs in the UK tomorrow. I'm not promising anybody anything, but if they arrive in Cambridge tomorrow we will start shipping the free modules on Monday. I estimate it will take 2 to 3 days to ship all of them.

Not that this helps your tuner situation, but the film is called The Twelve Tasks Of Asterix, and, although IMDB doesn't say so, the English dub had Bill Oddie as Asterix and Bernard Bresslaw as Obelix, IMO much better than the Craig Charles/Howard Lew Lewis combo that they used for Asterix In America.

The good thing about seeing Asterix films at the cinema is that you needn't worry about tall people sitting in front of you, as the rest of the audience is under 10...

The tuners were dispatched from the Sonicblue offices on the 10th; they just arrived today (11 days later, as opposed to the more usual 2 days).

Unfortunately, the events of last week meant that there was little anyone could do about getting them here much sooner - once they've disappeared into the carrier's shipping system, they will just pop out the other end when they can.

We have a limited number now, I'll ask Rob to update the store with the availability.
