While changing the color of my screen, i discovered a black rubber piece inside the knob. I don't remeber seeing it before.

It looks like it's supposed to be a circle (like a rubber band) but mine was cut. Also, it looks like it was dislodged from wherever it's supposed to be. My knob is back on now, but I am sure that the rubber piece is installed improperly.

Can someone please tell me where this is supposed to go, and how it's supposed to go in there.

Thanks,

-Rob R

I got a rubber washer with my replacement knob, but I didn't end up using it. The replacement knob grips the shaft just fine without it.

Try it without the washer and see if it's OK for you.

is your rotary controller a smooth or does it have the flat spot?

I think that if you have the flat spot you shouldn't need the O ring.

Nice apostrophe work Tony

Thank you. Note that it's used correctly in that particular instance.

(Apostrophe== contraction for "it is" or "it has", no aphostrophe== posessive form of the pronoun.)

I sent my empeg for repair a few months ago. Since then, I havn't taken the knob off until now. It may be possible the knob was swapped then.

If I put the knob on without the washer, it is too loose to use.

two small drops of epoxy on the shaft, each side of the knob spines (let it dry first) stop the know slipping forever! Mwa ha ha

Sorry punctuation police, no need for contractions in this post. You might say that I have already filled my conntractual obligations.

I replace all rotary knobs with the new type as standard procedure. If you have diffficulty using the broken rubber ring, email support@empeg.com and I'll get a new on sent out to you.

I left the 'O' ring out too for a while, then my knob got a bit slippy so I had to put it back in for that nice tight & rigid feeling.
