OK, these are really minor, but I didn't see them in the 2.0 release notes, so here goes:

1. The tuner doesn't remember state.
When I switch to the Tuner from the Player, it doesn't remember where it was, and seems to default to the last FM frequency. This annoys me, since 90% of what I want a tuner for is traffic info, and the best sources of that around here are the AM news stations. Pressing the tuner button again gets me to the right band, and it does remember frequency, but not preset (and therefore not preset name.)

2. Thump
I haven't had the "horrible noise until it tunes" problem that others have reported, but I do get a noticeable thump when switching bands. It's worse going AM->FM than FM->AM, but it's there in both directions.

3. S-Meter
Is it just me, or is the signal strength always within one bar of maximum, whether there's a signal there or not?

And now we're into wish-list stuff:

Wish 1. Punctuation in labels
I'd really like to label stations as KQED-FM and KCBS-AM, but I can't get a "-" Am I missing something?

Wish 2. WX
What happened to the weather band? I thought we had that working when I was in Cambridge last year.

Wish 3. Recording
This has been thrashed around a lot, but I'd like to be able to program the empeg to wake up and record the radio at preset times. This is serious pie-in-the-sky, but the ideal case for me is this: Start waking up at 6:38, record for 3 minutes, and go back to sleep. Repeat this process every ten minutes until I start the car, at which time it would play the last three recordings. This way I'd have the latest traffic info when I got in the car. Ideally, it could do with with the amps turned off, but just setting the volume off would do fine.

IIRC this was always a 'maybe' feature, and I think Hugo posted not to long ago that some of the
tuners were capable of the weather band, some weren't.
Ah yes, here it is...

I hereby retract bugs 2 and 3 from my post. 1 is still real, though I hope fixed in 2.0. Hugo sorted out yesterday that I had a miswired tuner extension cable, and as near as we can tell, I was listening to the signal strength meter. ;) So, if you have an S-meter that is always pegged or close to it, nearly non-existent FM reception, and the AM sounds distorted (clipped, really), then test your tuner without the extension cable. If it's worlds better, then that's the problem.
