I'm not sure if this is really a bug, but it annoys me a little, so...

The player seems to turn the amp on far too soon in the boot sequence. This means I get a thump out of the speakers when I start the engine, even though the empeg is still booting (showing my custom logo). If it didn't turn the amps on until the player started, this wouldn't usually happen (as the engine glow-plugs are done well before the empeg has finished booting.

The thump doesn't occur if the empeg is not in its cage, in case that's relevant.

Is there a reason for turning it on so early? I don't believe that there are amps that take so long to switch on, but I'm a computer guy, not an audio one.

The display and the amp are controlled by the same line. Display on=amp on.

I'd forgotten that. Thanks, Hugo.

Startup thumps should not happen unless there's something wrong with your wiring. Can you provide a wiring diagram of your system?

(edit: sometimes thumps can happen if you've got the Negative Spike Bug, too.)
