Sorry for the repost from bug reports, but I wanted to get a sense how many people had seen this problem...

Ok...my empeg has been acting screwy for a while, even before I updated to the v2.0 beta. What happens is that sometimes when my (mk II) empeg boots up, the display boots up dimmed (but still visible), and sometimes it boots up normally. There is no correlation between this happening and the headlights being on or off. Also, when I go and check the "dimmer" option in the menu, it's at %100 even when the display boots up dimmed. However, if I press the right arrow button as if I was trying to increase the percentage past %100, the display "undims" and functions normally until the next time I start the car.

BTW, the install is in a 1997 Audi A4.

Any help would be appreciated,
Adam

This has been a problem with all the MK2s (MK2 and MK2a). It occasionally will boot up with the boot logo dimmed, and then pop back to normal as soon as the player boots up fully.

It was supposed to be corrected in 2.0, but I noticed the problem in the 2.0 beta as well.

Although you are correct in saying that's a known bug, I don't think it's the same bug he was describing. He said he had to press a button to make the dimmer go back to normal. The known bug you just listed does not require a button press.

I've seen it too, but only a couple of times in the 2-3 weeks since I had it installed. Never in "home" mode, though - over 3 months.
