Hmmm, I just got an update email from SB with a tracking number.... Yup! just confirmed with Fedex that my 12/22 order was shipped. go go go...

I ordered mine from SB on the 23rd and it shipped on the 27th.

FedEx shows it arriving tomorrow (it's already here in town, but Express Saver shipping doesn't go on Saturday).

I don't think I'll ever use express saver from FedEx again. I live about 6 hours from where it was shipped from. Mine shipped out on the 27th also. Monday was the expected date, now they are saying Wednesday. That's almost a week (yes, im counting the holiday) to ship a package to a destination 6 hours away. I called to have them hold it when it gets in town so I can pick it up tomorrow. I wonder if it will even get in town by tomorrow.

I got the email saying my order shipped on the 27th, only the FedeX tracking number they gave me still as of tonight shows as "Invalid". An email to customer support only informed me that Customer Support is on vacation for the holidays.

If something screwed up my order, that it.. most likely no replacment stock will available for a lost/misdirected order.

Yeah, this is my greatest fear: That somehow the box will arrive empty or the order will be screwed up. With stock gone, it could be a minor tragedy.

You'll be safe for a replacement in case of an insurance claim with FedEx. SONICblue *have* to hold back some units for just such emergencies and to cover DOA and other warranty concerns.

I think I like mine better. Viewed the tracking friday night and it showed as leaving MD. So I was like great I'll get it monday morning here in Virginia. Look at the tracking this morning again and it's gone from MD back to CA, then to TN and then back to VA. I'm like WTF. Also looking over it more carefully before all this is left san jose to oakland then back to san jose then back to oakland before the MD fiasco. Somethings either totaly screwed with fedex or their tracking is messed up a bit. Either way I want my empeg today! My wife will kill me if she doesn't get hers.

BTW, it seems that a lot of the FedEx scanning equipment has the wrong time set. That might account for the (hopefully) erroneous back-and-forth you're seeing. My destination scan ended up in the middle of the tracking list simply because of a time screw-up.

My other order, of accessories arrvied today. I ordered it after ordering a 10 and 60gb unit. I got confirmation email and tracking number emails for both, at the same time. One arrived today, but the big order still shows an invalid tracking number.

I think I'm gonna cry now.

Well I don't feel too bad then mine went from Oakland,CA to Memphis,TN back to Oakland,CA maybe they forgot part of the order I don't know. All I can say is it is here now but at the Fed-Ex facility awaiting to open after the holidays. This is my second Empeg/Rio player and I'm as anxious as the first one, almost.

Don't take too much notice of those FedEx tracking reports - sometimes they scan manifests at a location which the player has already left, or not yet arrived at.

Oh I realize this, just pokin' fun, I've seen this with Fed Ex before.

The paperwork for the item also doesn't necessarily travel with the item. So you can get scans for a location well before the item gets there (it's a log entry for the paperwork, not the physical item - you can't tell on the website though). And in fact the item may be scanned at places in-between after that which makes the log look really confusing. :)
