I've got a 10GB and a 30GB Mk2a, and I'm trying to use the clone tool to xfer the 10 over to the 30. I've plugged both into USB ports, and when I hit the find units button, the source shows up as SN (0), and the destination shows up as the new players SN(which is higher that the old one). Any ideas, suggestions? I *could* just start over, but I don't really want to rebuild my playlists.

I don't see the problem. If it's just not reporting the source (old) player's SN correctly, it should still be able to clone the unit.
Or are you saying that it doesn't show the right source SN AND it doesn't clone correctly.

Before starting from scratch, you could temporarily put the old drives (one at a time) into the new player and copy the FIDS directory.

Yes, it's not letting me clone, the clone button is not comming up...

Maybe it's something as simple as: Make sure both players and the clone tool are all version 1.03?

I'll try downgrading everything then, and get back to you. I've got both players, and the emplode tool at 2.0b7.

Ok, downgraded both players, and emplode down to 1.03, and it's cloning fine now! It's nice with my motherboard having 2 usb controllers on it, speeds things up a bit.

Also is it a known issue about the clone tool with 2.0b7?

OK here's what I have run into. The newe player is coming up as the source is there a way to change which player is the source/destination?
I guess the serial numbers are causing this.
I searched for cloning at Riocar.org in the FAQ's but no luck.
