CloneTool problems

So, my backup Mk2a just showed up. My plan has been to have the two empeg's be clones of each other. The problem is that CloneTool insists on going from lower-numbered to higher-numbered serial numbers.
Well, my Mk2 is number 080000133 and my Mk2a is number 040103707.
Anybody see the problem yet? The newer empeg has a lower serial number, therefore CloneTool won't do the job.
Okay, what's the fix? Do I have to install sshd/rshd on these things and do a "tar cf - / | rsh other-empeg tar xf -" or is there some easier answer? Should I break the warranty seals and do drive-bay transplants such that the "new" box has all my data and the "old" box has nothing, then run CloneTool?
Please advise.
(Oh yeah, I'm got the 1.03 developer image on both empeg's.)

Yeah, this was discussed elsewhere. Empeg guys are aware and intend to put a "swap" button in the clone tool. Dunno how soon (may I suggest ASAP, guys, since the last of the new players are reaching customers as we speak).
You know, when working on a version control system for my company, I made sure that this sort of thing would never happen with our build dates by making certain that they were in YYYYMMDD order...

I tossed an FTP server on one (SMU's one that dosen't need a ton of files), and a Debian arm FTP client coupled with Rogers empeg extras package on the other.
One note about this, I got under half my tunes this way. Once I did "ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1 up", things worked better.
Once the transfer was done, I also sent a dd file of hda3 to keep all the scratch data, and wrote it to the new player. Config.ini was transferred as well, then I deleted the database files in /drive0/var and let emplode do a sync. Seems to be working fine, including all my EQ settings and play counts.

Yes, the serial number with MMYY was what the factory insisted on. Strange people.

Normally, I would know better than to ask for a "schedule" on when this might be done, but it would be nice to know whether it's coming "sooner" (i.e., in the next few days), or "later". If it's going to be here soon, then I won't mess around with copying files directly (and thus, potentially creating more problems for myself)...

Ditto on needing this. I just got my Mk2a and have been trying to clone for the last hour. First, I ran into the 2b7 Clone issue. So I spent 30 minutes backing down to 1.03 on both players. Now, I can't do anything since the serials are incorrectly ordered.
Will the Swap button be added in the next few days? Or am I gonna have to do this manually? Of course I want to go back to 2b7 ASAP...

I used HiJack by MLord. Ftp on my hdd all the content of Drv0 and Drv1, and uploaded it back to the new empeg. Worked beautifully. I forgot to put back also the raw partition, so I lost eq setitngs and plays count, but I could have saved those too, if I wanted (simply I did not care much, after all). All this was done in WinXP using SmartFTP as a ftp client. Now, that takes twice the time than to ftp from one empeg to the other, but if you don't mind about that, it works perfectly and you don't need any special sw change into empeg, besides HiJack, that I would suggest you to install anyway

You've probably solved this problem by now, but here is what I did -- using netcat.
