After having been paused a long time, the player has trouble resuming play. The sound will often (but not always) stutter a few times before continuing.

Mine would stutter several times after pausing with 2.0b3. It still stutters with 2.0b7 but it only does it once while it's waiting for the drives to spin up.

Yes, I also have the impression that beta 7 stutters less than beta 3. But since the audio information is still cached in the RAM, it should be able to resume playing without stuttering at all...

The Guys are closing in on what they think the stability problems are. Some discussion among the alpha team suggests that this problem (along with many others) might be solved in the next relase.

A temporary stop-gap measure might be to set reservecache to 8 in config.ini. That was something Mike had us alpha testers try to see if it solved any problems. I know it solved one (unrelated) problem I was having related to synchs, but I don't know if it will fix this one for you.
