Hello, i noticed that with the new Mk 2 Rio Players, the harness that is on the sled has a wiring harness that can be unplugged. You can splice the included wire harness to the car, and just plug and unplug the sled. That is fantastic!

My question is, is it possible to get extra harnesses that you can splice to other cars and take the sled (if I were to sell my car or something)? Can this be made? What is the part list?

Let me know, Thanks!

Honestly man, do you have nothing better to do than sit on this board and reply to people idiotically? Why don't you come out of your cave for some sunshine? I am sure that a breathe of fresh napalm...er-uh, sorry, air will do you good.

DSL? You must have meant DirecPC or Starband. I live 45 minutes from New York City and had a hard time getting DSL.

No no no. Osama did not studder. Osama said DSL. The main server is strapped to a goat that lives in mountains.

That connector is a standard, known in the trade as an ISO connector. You'll find it on the back of most European and Japanese head units, sometimes with a second section for the amplified audio outputs (which are not applicable to this product).

You should be able to get another pigtail relatively easily - if not mail carsupport@riohome.com and we can sell one to you for a couple of dollars.

What sort of UPS support do you have? And I am sure the manufacturer of the server hardware isn't going to warrent a server doubling as a goat's backpack.

I'd make sure your backups are good, too.

so are you saying that it is likely that I can remove the factory deck from my BMW E36 and it should plug right into the factory plug?

It's possible but unlikely, as factory units rarely follow the standard used by after-market head units. Instead you can get a convertor cable from Crutchfield (or Autoleads in the UK) that will have a factory mating connector on one end an standard ISO on the other.
