Ok guys, what do you think of this? I've been thinking that the Pelican cases are a nice idea, but what most people really want is a nice small unobstrusive case that is nicely padded with a bit of class. Here is my take on it. See all the attachments before responding.

It's a european carry all! Damnit. Man bag maybe? If I had this done in black *and* red leather it would look like an armani purse for sure, so I'll stick to black. ;-)

Last one. Ahh it reeks of lambskin leather when you open it. Don't know how long that will last. Should I get the empeg logo done on it? Or maybe Tux. (thought about it) I might as well embroider "steal this" underneath the logo. ;-D

A purse doesn't need a long strap. I love my Pelican 1200. I still think a nice rubber skeletal surround would be cool. I've been meaning to make a mock-up of one but I'll probably have to wait until I move. It would be something like the hard rubber boots found on Fluke multimeters.

I was at Fry's last night, and looked at the Case Logic PDV-1 (portable DVD case). It seemed like it would do the job as far as holding stuff, but it is basically a purse and looks lame to carry around. I know a lot of people are using Pelican cases, but I really don't want to take a hard case inside a movie theater every week. It just doesn't seem practical. The fact that am middle eastern and look the part of muslim terorrist does not help me either in avoiding attention to myself with a case that looks like it can contain "bad stuff". Any other alternatives for carrying cases?

How about a purse? :-D

I use the Case Logic and the empeg fits well, with plenty of room for power adapter and other goodies. However, in public I usually have my wife carry it.

The pelican case looks bad ass though. Especially if you handcuff it to your wrist.
