i dunno but i was hopeing maybe in a future rls. something could be implated such as having animated gif's or avi files to import as the visual, it dosnt have to go with the music or anything, bit it would really show the power of the player and the VFD. i get people complaing saying the grafic on the pioneer are better with there ole stuff.. when i knwo the rio can do those animation easy, and to put your own on there woudl be just amazing. i dunno it seems likea relistic dream but i could be wrong. input please?

Of course thanks to Peter we do now have an animated GIF player in the source tree. I understand it's a little flakey in the general case, though.

where can i locate information on that rob? i think i read a lil about that.. but from my understand you have to quit the player and its a seprate program, so no music can be playing.

Think rob's talking about something else. You can find info on the program you are talking about by searching through the programming forum.

No, you can't get more info anywhere - my comments were directed to Toby, who has the advantage of having access to our codebase (since he works here and wrote quite a lot of it). We're not concentrating on new features for the car player right now (let's not talk about beta11) but the next time we do so I'm sure Toby will remember this visual suggestion.

Oh - and if it takes unsynchronised animation playback to impress your Pioneer owning friends, then you can at least be content that you have a certain class they will never understand.
