Just a thought :- as some of us spend ages tweaking EQ, LR delay, etc and others don't want to (or don't know how to) how about a thread giving type of car, amps etc along with settings so a newbie can get a rough setting which may speed up the zeroing in process?

For example, the sweet spot for LR Delay in my Subaru Impreza Sport (UK model, so RH Drive) with stock speakers is 1.9ms Right Delay.

In posting this I realise I haven't got the rest of my settings handy, so may have to edit later

I have to change the settings in my car if, for instance, I raise the rear seatbacks (station wagon) or have any cargo stored in the back. So imagine how different things would be in a different car -- not just the same car with the interior slightly reconfigured!

I'm changing things around now anyway, as I discover more things to play with at traffic lights - the equaliser/balance/l-r delay settings are in constant flux at the moment as changing the eq seems to alter my l-r perception. Yes. This is one of the fundamental things that BBE processors do, is phase-correct individual frequencies to compensate for this kind of thing.

BBE specializes in audio enhancing stuff, I seem to recall them starting up about 10-15 years ago in the pro-audio realm of things.

Back in the early days, they did signal processing that improves the sparkle and punch of an audio signal. It wasn't overt (like adding delay or echo), it was subtle corrections of certain frequencies to remove muddiness. One of my friends added one to his live-performance PA rig and it really worked well.

When you turned it on, it was like someone took the pillows out from in front of your speaker cabinets. It was very subtle, but very effective for what it did.

Dunno what they do these days, but I do know that they sell chipsets to integrate into other aftermarket devices now (such as the head unit you described).
