Okay, since the Dallas/TX meet thread is a little long in tooth, and never really getting anywhere on what/when/where/how, I wanted to put up a poll.

This poll is on what city people would prefer for the meet. Currently I'll act like there is only one meet in one city. You can pick which city you'd prefer the meet to be in, or which city you live in ... these two are probably the same for most people.

I voted Austin, but am willing to travel anywhere but Lubbock, El Paso and Midland/Slowdessa...

I am the other person who voted Austin, but like Dave have no problems travelling.

I live in Houston, but would like it it be outside of Houston, I see too much of this town, and would enjoy a road-trip.

I'll put my vote for Dallas, but could do Austin.

It almost happened in Dallas, but the guy who was making the arrangements disappeared. I'd love to see this get resurrected, but somebody needs to take charge and do the planning (pick a restaurant with a suitable private dining room, nice parking lot, etc.).

I guess we need to get a new poll for location and a person to commit to not disappearing on us.
Due to my schedule, the best I could do is talk to the people at Rudy's BBQ in north Austin while at lunch there one day. Big parking lot, large seating inside or out (no private dining room) and they have an Austin Corvette Club meet there once a year so they may not mind a smaller get together than that big show. It ain't fancy, butcher paper for a plate, typical Texas style BBQ.
Or we could go to Cooper's BBQ in Llano, the best BBQ on Earth...

I just happen to be going to Kerrville (from Dallas) for the music festival in a couple of weeks.. Kerrville is about an hour northwest of San Antonio, maybe a somewhat neutral location and a lot of other distractions to boot.

Honestly, I don't think we need polls. We need somebody to "step up" and declare "I am organizing a meet at this place at that time." It doesn't particularly matter whether it's in Dallas, Austin, Houston, or San Antonio. It's no big deal to drive from any of these cities to any of the other ones. I'd probably recommend against going somewhere farther afield (e.g., Brownsville).

Any place that can handle a Corvette club meeting should have no trouble with a bunch of crazy car stereo enthusiasts.

i can go for almost any date in houston, dallas, austin or something similar in june or august. (i'm gone in july). i'd fairly likely come if there was one organized.

I live in Shreveport Louisiana, but am willing to drive just about anywhere in Texas. I make frequent trips to Austin, and i think ill be down there this weekend. While im down there i plan to do some recon. Ill post possible suggestions for Austin on sunday evening.
