My empeg has suddenly stopped working in my car. It was all working fine, but now there is no power to the unit (no flashing blue LED). It still works at home - just not in the car any more.

Any idea what could be wrong?

I would concur with this diagnosis. Loose wiring (including the possibility that wires have pulled loose from the back of the harness assembly) or a blown fuse on the constant-power or ignition wires.

Yup, well spotted. The fuse connected to the yellow (live?) wire of the stereo loom (3A) has blown. And it's a bloody nightmare to get to. I had to take my dash to pieces to get to it.

Remember that a blown fuse is a SYMPTOM, not a cause. It blew for a reason, and that reason will just come back eventually. It's important to find out what it was.

Make sure you don't defeat the fuse or put in a higher-rated fuse just to avoid the problem, or your player might be damaged.

maybe your amplifier is driven over the same fuse and on high load the fuse blows. this could be one of the reasons or something similar.

Hmm.. It's been working faultlessly for months and months now. I'll try replacing the fuse with one the same and see if it blows again....
