I recall seeing a post that explained hot to fix the random dimmer setting several weeks ago but can't seem to re-locate it. Has it been determined that the fix is hardware and is user fixable?

Solution is detailed in the FAQ here.

Note that the movie linked in that location might not play the first time in Windows Media Player, I'm working on doing some relocating and re-hosting of the movie files and I haven't gotten the kinks worked out yet. If you want to play the movie, you might have to close WMP and hit the link a second time, don't know why yet.

Thanks Guys, that was indeed what I was looking for. Sorry about not checking the FAQ first but the FAQ section of the BBS hadn't been updated and I assumed (yes I know) that this hadn't been entered into the FAQ yet.
