Did you notice more registrations in the BBS in the last months? I can't remember the number of registered users about 4-6 months ago. I think it would be interesting. I think the number of registered persons also shows something like a count of really empeg interested persons.
(if this are only around 650 it's not too good for the empeg company. Hopefully there will be more persons ordering a Mk2)
The guys@empeg should earn some money for their great work!

I just wanted to chime in here and give PaulH three cheers for taking such good care of us and this BBS. The new server is definitely a lot quicker, and I'm really happy with the new software.

New Hardware is a homebuild Celeron 300 overclocked
to 450meg - 128Meg Ram. Running Linux 2.2.x.

This is compared to the old P75 with 32Meg.

You gotta love overclocking them 300a's to 450. My home machine is the same thing, and it's been running like a champ for over a year that way. It's the most stable system I've owned. Talk about a bargain. Even the salesman who sold me the chip knew I was buying a 300a just to OC the thing. Amazing what you can do with one tiny little piece of tape on pin B21...

If you have any 300->450 OC'd systems running Windows, I've got a great startup screen for ya.

Mine was supposed to, but it wouldn't allow me to adjust the FSB speed independently of the clock speed, so I had to settle for the tape. It was funny, I spent a few days fiddling with the motherboard settings, afraid to do the B21 tape, thinking that the tape was a dangerous last-ditch effort. Actually, it was amazing how when I finally caved in and said, "what the hell, I'll try the tape", everything suddenly started working magically. I wonder if the Intel engineers kicked themselves for allowing the design to be hacked so easily?

This article is the one everyone referred back to when overclocking their celeron 300a's.

Too cool. I love it. Glad you liked the screens. I was pretty proud of how I used the color-cycling to make the chip glow.
