I didn't know where else to post this:
My roommate and I were remembering our good ol' saturday morning cartoons, and couldn't remember the name of one of them.
All we can remember is a show full of Nintendo characters. It started some guy with a light gun, and had folks like Princess, Kid Icarus, et al.
Anyone know what this show was called?

Well, for a while there in the early 90's, there was Nintendo cartoon that was hosted by Captain Lou Albino. They would show a 7 or 8 minute Mario Bros cartoon, then cut to the good Captain for a drawing or something. Then they'd play a Zelda cartoon. At least thats how i remembered it. I don't remember Kid Icarus though.

Yeah it was Mario Brothers every weekday afternoon except Fridays where they'd play Zelda. Before and after the commercials, the real Mario Brothers in real life would do something for a few seconds..

Yes! that's it! (no, not the Mario Bros thing. I remember the Mario cartoons, but those were a bit later I think and on weekday afternoons, not Sat).
My roommate will ba glad I got that name from you guys. You know what it's like to not remember the name of something. It's so frustrating!

And thanks for that site as well. It answered another Sat morning cartoon question I had about the Transformers
But just to make sure I've got it right: is Soundwave the name of the very large tape player decepticon? you know, the guy that could load smaller, tape sized bots in his chest. that one was bugging me too.

If anybody is interested, I have the theme song for Captain N. I can get it posted on the internet if people want it.
Loved that show. Around the same time, I think I watched Pirates of Dark Water and MASK. I have a whole collection of all these theme songs.

I always thought Saturday Morning cartoons went downhill once Scrappy Doo showed up on the scene... He just didn't fit in, IMHO...

Not only do I remember it, I own a lot of their stuff on video. Even considering upgrading to the DVDs. I loved land of the lost as a kid.

How about those sixties/seventies classics like Rocket Robin Hood and the original Spider Man series...boy, the quality animation they showcased was so much superior to Warner Bros and Disney....Anyone remember Birdman?

Did you know that ``Danger Island'', one of the adventure segments of `` The Banana Splits'' starred Jan-Michael Vincent and was directed by Richard Donner, who went on to direct the ``Lethal Weapon'' series of movies, among many others?

Oh yeah, big time. "But today I am still just a Bill."
I can do one better, and link a rare SNL video parody of Schoolhouse rock, "Consipiracy Theory Rock".

Hmm, their link to the video itself seems to be down. Maybe there will be someplace else on the web with the file.

Ooohh, Careful D.M.!
Did Dangermouse get across the pond or is it just us lucky Brits who saw it?
That and "The Clangers" - the two top kids programmes from my childhood years. Well, and Doctor Who, obviously.

Oddly, though, Baron Greenback's crow henchman (whose name I forget, obviously) had a Cockney accent in the US instead of the Italian accent he had in Britain.
