I've seen a lot of references to (and some photos of) a Mercedes demonstrator vehicle for the Empeg Car.

I'm curious: Whose car is this? I mean, it can't really just be a company-owned car that's only used for showing off the Empeg. Somebody drives it to work every day, right?

I asked that same question when rob first posted the new web site announcement.

C'mon rob, who's A-class is that? Or is it just some car you took a shot of on the street?

In Rob's absence (he's off preparing exhibition stuff) and as a frequent passenger in said Merc, here's the situation:

The A-class Merc is empeg's demo car. Intended for UK journalists to borrow for a day or two so that they can review the player in it's intended environment. The system consists of (from memory) Infinity Kappa in the front, Reference in the rear, a 10" sub and a pair of shiny Kicker amps. Which sounds a lot better than a pair of PC speakers, which is the likely alternative. :-)

So far only a few reviewers have had the car, mainly for preview. Once the mark 2 is shipping, the car will be on loan to reviewers most of the time.

... so long as it doesn't have any more flat tyres...

So it's really Empeg's car? Does it get driven around by one of the employees, or does it stay parked at Empeg until it's needed?

/me wonders what exhibition Rob's off doing...

That is an amazing coincidence. I just signed on as a freelance reviewer for Bloody Good Audio, a premiere UK monthly that will debut in July. Very high circulation, website and everything, it'll be wonderful. And I just talked my editors into doing a feature spread entitled "14 days with the Emepeg." Quite exciting, you can't buy that kind of exposure!

I'll be by to pick up the car on June 19th. Tally-ho!

No, but apparently, you can buy a license to BS.

I'm the editor of Bloody Good Audio, and I'm pretty sure I decided to review the Mercedes, er, I mean empeg myself

Oh no, unfortunately Max Power already have it booked out for that fortnight! They're going to take it on a gentle country drive and have promised not to turn the stereo up too loud.
