I was thinking it would be cool to be able to display a text file on the Empeg screen...something like a "text files" directory where you could upload text files and be able to call them up and scroll through them on screen? I think it would be cool to keep a bunch of text files such as driving directions stored and be able to call them up and scroll through them. I was considering buying a cheap PDA for this purpose, but it would be so much cooler if I could just use the Empeg...

I know neither jack nor shite about programming, but it seems like this would be a fairly easy thing...?

You need hijack too. With this you can browse the drectory structure and view any file (even non text) quite easily. It even reads /proc files which is kinda cool. Would be perfect for what you are trying to do.
