Rob, Hugo, etc...

How goes things with the components and the 70-or-so production units you were working on? Are you still going for the next week shipping date? Or if not, anytime soon?

Reason I'm asking is because I just got majorly poured in on my Jeep and my junker CD Player/Radio I have installed (previously alongside my empeg) fried. So now I'm completely audio-less. Ack! 8)

Thanks for the response!

I got rained in my convertible a couple of weeks back. I discovered sealing up asap and running the air conditioner and heater to dehumidify and bake the interior expels all the moisture out of the car in less than an hour.

We're going for the world record of last minute glitches - that said, we should still be getting players early next week.

So can we expect a new beta release before this or are
we going straight to a full release?

That reminds me. Rob, what version of the software are you sending with the Mark II's? Wouldn't it be odd to start out on your flagship product with a beta release installed?

Oh, and be sure to send me my empeg soon

The first mini batch may go out with a Beta release lacking one or two features, but we'll announce Consumer 1.0 very soon after.

I'm absolutely dying for the Mark 2s to ship. I had three dreams about the Mark 2 in the last four days... does that mean I'm addicted?

...probably the handiwork of recording-industry cartel saboteurs.

I wonder if developing and mass-marketing a cheap alternative to fossil-fuel would go off smoother. Nah, that would probably get you killed. Then again, has anyone actually SEEN Rob and Hugo (et al.) lately? Maybe the RIAA and some major Japanese electronic-industrialists have been pretending to be them online. Maybe those were just hollowed out animatronic bodies at the MP3 Summit...

I am so paranoid.

OK - you've covered the question for the first mini-batch of 70 units. But what's about the next 930 untis of the planned patch? When will they be produced and shipped?

Hmmm. When they get the parts in that they are missing would be a good guess.

The component that we're awaiting is due to arrive early in July, and we can expect volume production to commence in the second week of that month. That should be the end of these delays - from then on we'll work steadily to clear the backlog (still on schedule for the end of the summer).

Sorry for the hold ups (as always) but I can assure you I'm really looking forward to charging some credit cards very soon :-)
