Pediatricians recommend slicing a hotdog linearly. The method of slicing a hotdog linearly can reduce the chances of choking during consumption. Okay, that's reasonable. Until you consider that they only cut about two third of the frankfurter. Apparently, the risk goes down for one of the ends.
