Why is it surprising? You may be bitter that he kept his GPS software to himself, and I'll admit that it didn't make me happy either, but it was his software, and his right to do so. Releasing this seems consistent: it's "base functionality" which other software could make use of. The GPS software was more or less a self-contained addon which could be sold separately.

Hey, I'm totally on board with a programmer's right to do whatever they want with their own work. Believe me, I write software for a living. It just surprised me considering he had planned on selling his GPS thing closed source.

Having thought about it a little more, he would have had to release the kernel source anyway due to GPL restrictions, so I guess it's not so surprising after all.

Anyway, this is neither here nor there. Let's keep this thread focused on Hijack v3xx improvements.
