I'm interested in IrDA. While still a minority, I have seen some growing interest in using other IrDA enabled devices to talk to the player.

Leaving any specific features up to userland apps to impliment, I think the only piece needed in hijack is the IrDA driver (thanks for posting one with that compiled in, Tony).

I don't know how much of a concern kernel bloat is... are we getting close some size restriction? If so, then maybe module support would be a better solution. People could compile their own kernel modules and get the add-ons they're interested in without bloating the mainstream hijack. Then again, if nobody else has modules they want to load, there's no point in doing it for just IrDA.
