I would simply cycle through all the view modes, as you said: off,track,now&next,line,track(trans),now&next(trans),line(trans) . And, just like it is about to be for the visual, there could be a line in the config that restricts the cycling to only the few favorite info modes you chose. What do you htink about this?

Good idea, but hold-info (which would presumably be used to toggle between full and restricted set of info modes as hold-visual is used for visuals) is already taken for details. (I finally settled on transient info mode with details when I want, well, details.)
