One thing you have to consider: How do you plan on shutting down and syncing your drives? Your "Mpegbox" controller doesn't seem to support shutting down in anyway. It only seems to hold the power on a certain time after the ignition goes off.

As far as I am aware WinAnything has no support for read only devices.
