Yes, there is. Google and you can find all sorts of adapters that let you go Playstation->PC, or Playstation->Gamecube, etc.

I think that the playstation controller is horrible and is a very poor design, but I also realize that other people have the exact opposite opinion, so I respect that.

I recently got an adapter that lets me hook up my Gamecube controller to my PC and I'm very happy with it, so if you do the same for your playstation controller, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

Oh, and I would also like to follow up Robricc's post, since he linked to Lik-Sang. That's the same company I ordered the Gamecube adapter from. I was a little nervous ordering from Hong Kong, but my shopping experience with Lik-Sang was quite satisfactory. I paid extra to make sure that I used the shipping option that was track-able, and my adapter was shipped and arrived on time.

A follow-up to Tony's post about following up my post.

When I ordered from Lik-Sang, my package was sent from Germany. So, I am not sure what their deal is, but I got my stuff too.

does the "rumble" function still work if I used a PS controller? Can anyone recommend another controller?

If the interface supports it, yes. The trick is that not all PC games support that function, so you won't get it for every game.

yes, provided the driver supports force feedback
i use my xbox controller, and it works like a champ for flying helicopters in Desert Combat
the drivers i use are called 'psxpad' and support many controllers. n64, saturn, ps2, xbox (going from memory, i may be off)
hands down, the best drivers i have found for my controller yet. you may find something better, as i havent tried it with a ps(2) controller

http://www.psxpad.com/index_e.php

horrible horrible translations, and it says parallel port. my xbox one is done through the usb port. ymmv

Dude, I JUST fixed my controller problem a week ago. I've been looking a for a good PS2 > USB adapter for Final Fantasy 11 for a while, and it seemed like the only place you could get them was ordering from China or something. I got one on ebay that advertised it working with XP -- but it only worked in 98.

Then I saw that Radio Shack actually has these. Its about 11 bucks and works like a champ, including rumble function. This is it.. I'm extremely satisfied. Ha ha, I seriously havn't been this stoked with a purchase in a looong time.
