Your idea was my original intent.
Not only would it have taken longer to make but with 28 to 30 frames, that idea would happen too fast to to really notice the difference between the two. So I chose the less time consuming idea.

OK, so I was bored, and I took the more time consuming path.

Still could use a little cleaning up, and at 25 frames I think it works alright.
