Connect to the player's serial port, hit "control C" to get a shell prompt (developer s/w required -- upgrade if necessary), and the do "player -i".

don't be afraid, I am not trying to make things worse here; I just noticed these things and thought that maybe it could be something. I'm the first to think that it can't be these "bridges" that I saw because until now the player was fine and these bridges can't just have come out of nothing.

I've done that; in the boot log I posted on page 1 in approx. the middle of the text there's the line where I sent that comand; and what happened afterwards.

Now I have another thing in my mind: I could delete all the tunes from the empeg, format the drive and start from scratch; could this be helpful?
