  1. Audio device access to 3rd party applications, possibly via the audio overlay patch.
    Done, Hijack-v301 released today. 
    

  2.  Allow background apps to write to the display.

    This will likely be done when (3) below is implemented.

    

  3.  Painless startup of user apps.

    I will endeavor to work on this while stranded at the in-laws again this Christmas.
